A bronze model of the Tsarevets fortress with Braille information helps blind people to imagine what the fortress is like in its full size. The model is located on the square, near the entrance to “Tsarevets”.
The buildings are stylized, with a lower relief, so as not to affect the details when the blind touch the model. The bronze technology is classic for this type of model, as the marking of the braille points is more permanent with this material.
The royal complex, which arch. Plamen Tsanev has restored virtually with the help of a special computer program and long studies of old chronicles and wall paintings. This is how the authentic look of the Patriarchal Church was recreated, as well as parts of the Trapezitsa fortress.
The project was carried out on the idea and initiative of the Rotary Club – Veliko Tarnovo, with the support of the Municipality in the old capital, Zonta Club, Lions Club – Veliko Tarnovo, Lions Club – Yantar, Lions Club – Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanasi and Lions Club – Tsarevets, with the assistance of the Territorial Organization of the Union of the Blind – Veliko Tarnovo.
