One-Act Musical and Dance Fairy Tale in Three Scenes Based on the Drama “The Dragon’s Wedding” (1910) by Petko Yu. Todorov
With great trepidation and genuine enthusiasm, we invite you to the Premiere in Veliko Tarnovo of the Folklore Spectacle “THE DRAGON’S WEDDING” based on the drama of the same name by P.Yu. Todorov.
Experience the emotion, richness and beauty of folk beliefs and traditional rituals combined with the artistic expressiveness of the talented dancers and singers of the PFA “Shevitsa” and the fairy tale of the tragic plot. A story about the pursuit of freedom and breaking away from the norm of society at the cost of the disembodied and poetic folklore illusion. An honest, touching and shocking story in which everyone will recognize themselves.
And the story becomes even closer to us when we explain that the basis of the plot of “Zmeyova svatba” is the relationship between Peyo Yavorov and the author’s sister – Mina Todorova, prototypes of the main characters Zmeya and Cena. There is no Bulgarian untouched by their tragic fate…
The performance is dedicated to the 111th anniversary of the poet’s death.
