Prepare for an encounter with the living tradition of Bulgaria! On Zagovezni, the Old Capital will be resounded with the heavy claps of one of the most titled masquerade groups in our country – the Kukeri group at the National Community Center “Peyo K. Yavorov – 1920”, village of Meshtitsa (Pernik municipality).

Venue: Open stage
6:00 p.m. – Folklore program.
6:30 p.m. – Kukeri defile
In the magical atmosphere of Arbanasi, the group will present authentic rituals for purification, banishing evil forces and calling for health, fertility and prosperity.
📅 FEBRUARY 22 (SUNDAY) – VELIKO TARNOVO
Route: from Samovodska Charshia to Veliko Tarnovo Municipality
11:00 a.m. – Grand parade. The impressive masks and heavy claps of the “golden” kukeri will pass through the heart of the old capital to bless the city and its inhabitants.
Come to see the magical masks up close and feel the power of the Bulgarian spirit. Let us together ask for forgiveness, burn the bad and make way for the light and the new beginning!
