“Nonviolence is the most powerful force available to humanity.” These words belong to Mahatma Gandhi, the great son of India, who reminded the world of the principle of ahimsa (non-violence) as the path to independence in all its forms. His ideas influence minds and leaders around the world. In tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and his cause, in 2007 the United Nations declared October 2 (his birthday) as the International Day of Non-Violence. The conceptual exhibition titled “Áhimsá: non-violence” is dedicated to this holiday, as well as to Gandhi’s personality.
