41 young singers from 19 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa are arriving in Veliko Tarnovo to participate in the Krasimira Stoyanova Opera Art Forum.
The art event is organized by the Konstantin Kisimov Music and Drama Theater in partnership with the Municipality and with the support of Krasimira Stoyanova herself. It will be held from March 15 to 19 in a large hall of the theater, with the attendance rounds having free admission for the public.
The forum is an international platform for the presentation and development of young opera talents and provides participants with a professional stage for performance and opportunities for creative exchange. It is held under the patronage of the world-famous Bulgarian soprano Krasimira Stoyanova – an artist whose exceptional career inspires generations of singers around the world.
The competition started on November 1 of this year. Applications for participation were received from 186 opera singers up to 35 years of age from 30 countries on four continents. After selection, the committee admitted 41 participants to the in-person stage.
The on-site selection will be in three rounds. The first round will be held on March 15 and 16, and the soloists will perform two arias each, one of which must be by Mozart. Those admitted to the second round on March 17 will present two new arias. The final is on March 19 at 7:00 p.m., when the young talents will perform together with the Konstantin Kisimov State Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra.
The forum jury brings together prominent artists, conductors and managers from Bulgaria and Europe. Among them are Krasimira Stoyanova herself, one of the brightest Bulgarian baritones Kiril Manolov, the world-renowned Russian bass Maxim Kuzmin-Karavaev, the conductor maestro Georgi Patrikov and the famous artistic manager Andrea de Amici from Italy.
The Krasimira Stoyanova Opera Art Forum is part of the Project “META-CULTURE: Veliko Tarnovo” (No. BG-RRP-11.021-0015), implemented by the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo under procedure BG-RRP-11.021 “New Generation of Local Cultural Policies for Large Municipalities”, within the framework of investment No. BG-RRP-11.021-0015-C01.
