The State Art Gallery in Veliko Tarnovo is one of the oldest and richest galleries in the country.
Opened in 1934, the gallery collects and preserves works of Bulgarian artists and shows the development of Bulgarian art over the years. Here you can see canvases by Vladimir Dimitrov, Boris Denev, Nikola Tanev and many others. On the first floor, works on the theme “Veliko Tarnovo through the eyes of the artist” are exhibited, which is renewed periodically. On the second floor, the gallery exhibits works from its collection, as well as works from guest exhibitions.
The Boris Denev Gallery is located in the very heart of the city, located near the “Asenevtsi” monument, from where an incredibly beautiful view of old Tarnovo is revealed.
