For the eleventh consecutive year, the Regional Library “P. R. Slaveykov” becomes one of the vibrant spaces of the celebration of the book, where readers and visitors can meet authors, art, and cultural events. The program includes a variety of literary meetings, exhibitions, and musical performances.
We mark April 2 – International Children’s Book Day and the 221st anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, with Denitsa Kyuchukova and Katerina Milusheva and their books “Heroic Stories with Feathers and Tails,” “The Cat in ¾” (A Tale of Love), and “The Gift of the Rose.”
On April 3, in the foyer, the novel “The House with the White Veranda” by Atanas Atanasov will be presented, with moderator Valeri Angelov. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view children’s drawings and literary works from the competition “My Hometown. 150 Years Since the April Uprising.”
On April 7, the space will be filled with a festive atmosphere during an Easter concert featuring students from the class of Prof. Srebra Mihaleva from the Faculty of Education at St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo.
The foyer will also host the traditional Kisymov Readings (April 16), dedicated to the great Bulgarian actor Konstantin Kisimov, with the participation of students from the University of Veliko Tarnovo.
At the end of the month, visitors will also be able to explore engaging documentary exhibitions. On April 21, the exhibition “The Eternal Contemporary”, dedicated to artist Alexander Bozhinov, will be opened, and on April 24 – an exhibition dedicated to footballer Dimitar Tzekov and the history of FC Etar Veliko Tarnovo.
On April 27, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Rene Karabash, author of the novel “Ostaynitsa,” nominated for the International Booker Prize, and on April 28, we will discover the secret to living to one hundred years with “Centenarians 2” by Mira Dobreva.
