The monument to the hanged

The monument to the hanged is located on the main street in the city of Veliko Tarnovo at the foot of the old «Varusha» quarter. At this place outside the then city, during the Turkish slavery, a gallows was erected and the Turks hanged the captured Komites and rebels. The place is one of the Monuments of the Struggle for National Liberation of Bulgaria.
