The summer campaign «Come to the library» is an initiative conceptually created with the aim of provoking students from I to XII grades from the city of Veliko Tarnovo, who are readers of the RB «Petko R. Slaveykov», to read more and more books during the summer vacation.
The campaign period is from June 1 to September 15, after which the results are analyzed. The students with the most borrowed books are the big winners. For the reporting period, students in three age categories (from 7 to 10 years /I – IV class/, from 11 to 14 years /V – VII class/, from 15 to 18 years /VIII – XII class/), based on borrowed books , have a chance to win three great material prizes: a laptop, a tablet and a reader.
According to information from different years, between 2,000 and 3,500 students from the city and the district participate in the competition, who in the period between June 1 and September 15 strive to be among the big winners. After the end of the reporting period and the analysis of the results, the organization of an event is started, at which the names of all awardees are announced. Many additional awards are also broadcast at the celebration, distinction for sustainable reader, for library ambassador, for partnership are some of the special awards that the library broadcasts. Prizes for reading families are also provided. The awards are provided by the institution and with the help of sponsors. After the end of the reporting period, a ceremonial award ceremony is prepared, which is traditionally held in the month of October in the lobby of RB «Petko R. Slaveykov» in the presence of officials and guests. It, in turn, is accompanied by a rich musical program.
